The Savannah Post is a snail-mail club! Readers get a real piece of mail each month filled with whimsical, thoughtful, and tactile delights. This is for old friends, new friends, and anyone who loves to get fun mail. Each letter contains four special items*. Each edition is mailed in a beautiful, hand-addressed envelope and sealed with heated wax. We do our printing at a wonderful print shop in Savannah called Mailbox Cafe. Below are examples from past editions.
- A piece of art. (“The Relic”) We connect with a new artist each month and include one of their original pieces for our readers.
- An advice column (“The Relay”) This is a response to submitted questions asking for a second opinion. Both Javen and Aleisha give some advice (usually quite different from each other).
- A short essay (“The Reverie”) Javen writes a 650 word piece about real life, usually related to counseling, observations from the therapy room, funny stories, or whatever else he is thinking about.
- A seasonal recipe (“The Recipe”) Aleisha curates a recipe and gives step by step instructions for preparing it. It’s a fun way to treat yourself (and friends) to something new!
*sometimes we also include bonus items for fun!
