The Savannah Post

The Savannah Post is a snail-mail club! Readers get a real piece of mail each month filled with whimsical, thoughtful, and tactile delights which are personally curated and packaged by Javen and Aleisha. This is for old friends, new friends, and anyone who loves to get fun mail. Each letter contains four special items* and is mailed in a beautiful, hand-addressed envelope. We do our printing at a wonderful print shop in Savannah called Mailbox Cafe. Below are examples from past editions.

  1. A piece of art. (“The Relic”) We connect with a new artist each month and include one of their paintings or drawings for our readers printed on linen or hemp paper.
  2. A featured-artist section (“The Relay”) This is a section where we highlight folks who are creating good things in the world. This may be photographs, writing, paintings, poetry, or something else.
  3. A short essay (“The Reverie”) Javen writes an 850 word essay about real life, usually related to counseling, observations from the therapy room, funny stories, or whatever else he is thinking about. Most of these pieces are later published on Substack. You can read some past essays here.
  4. A seasonal recipe (“The Recipe”) Aleisha curates a recipe and gives step by step instructions for preparation. It’s a fun way to treat yourself (and friends) to something new!

*each month we also include a bonus item for fun!
